cIRcle increases your scholarly profile by providing free, permanent access to your work to anyone via the web. You can find thousands of UBC Theses and Dissertations in cIRcle as well as exemplary undergraduate and graduate student work. To add your work to cIRcle, you will need to get approval from your professor, instructor or supervisor.

If you are submitting your thesis or dissertation, please review the instructions provided by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS).

How do I contribute my work to cIRcle?

Graduate students at UBC Vancouver are encouraged to submit their exemplary non-thesis manuscripts or projects that are part of their graduate coursework to the GSS (Graduate Student Society) cIRcle Open Scholar Award, a new, lottery based award. Visit the cIRcle GSS Award information page to learn more.

For all other student work, please review the instructions provided below:

  1. Check first to see if your academic or research unit is already listed in cIRcle.
  2. Talk to your professor, instructor or supervisor about submitting your work to cIRcle, and also let them know whether or not your academic or research unit is already listed in cIRcle.
  3. If your professor approves of your work being submitted to cIRcle, please ask them to fill out the student submission approval form. Please also refer your professor to cIRcle's Getting Started for UBC Faculty guide.
  4. After your professor has approved your request, please fill out the cIRcle Non-exclusive Distribution License form You will receive an automatic email notification with a copy of your license which you can forward to your instructor for confirmation.
  5. Send a PDF of your final paper to
  6. cIRcle staff will contact your professor and ensure that your work is submitted to cIRcle.
  7. After your work has been submitted to cIRcle, we will send you an email with the URL.
