Hello! My name is Fraser Sutherland and I am delighted to be working at cIRcle this Winter Session as the new Digital Repository Research Assistant. I am currently in my second year within the UBC School of Information, and am working towards my Master of Library and Information Studies. Since starting the program, I have developed a passion for open access and scholarly communications, especially in regards to the fine arts.
Some of my duties this year will include preparing new digital records in cIRcle, identifying and recruiting scholarly articles authored by UBC faculty, facilitating preparations for the upgrade to DSpace 7.x, and researching emerging recommendations and best practices in digital repositories (among other things!). I am also excited to contribute to cIRcle’s blog this year. So please keep an eye out for future posts discussing different aspects of and future projects at cIRcle!
