This session provided an overview of open access and other related open movements such as open education, open science, open content and open data and explained why the principle of Openness is seen as a critical element in advancing the reach of research amongst students, scholars, universities, research funders worldwide. This session took place on October 18, 2010 in the Lillooet Room of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at the University of British Columbia.
