Abstract

This paper is a preliminary report on the 1993 U.B.C. and New World Archaeological Foundation excavations at the Early Formative Period site of Paso de la Amada, on the Pacific Coast of Chiapas, Mexico. The excavations were carried out as part of a three year SSHRC-funded, and N.W.A.F. supported excavation at the site, continuing with our work first begun in 1985. It provides a brief description of the locations excavated, including major excavations in Mounds 5, 6, and 12, and test excavations in Mounds 4, 13, and 14.
