The use of perbenzoic acid for measuring the concentration of vinyl groups in emulsion polyisoprene Phillips, Norman E.
Abstract
The method of Lee, Kolthoff and Mairs for correcting the iodine numbers of polymers for substitution by iodine monochloride is unsatisfactory. An improved method of calculating the amount of vinyl groups in a polymer from its rate of reaction with perbenzoic acid is presented and used to compare three types of emulsion polyisoprene with natural rubber.
