Abstract

This study examines the supply of physical therapists (PTs) and occupational therapists (OTs) in British Columbia over the last ten years, and is part of a larger research project examining the current and future supply of, and demand for, rehabilitation personnel in B.C. Supply data were obtained from the regulatory bodies for PTs for 1991, 1995, 1997 and 2000, and from the professional association for OTs for 1991, 1995, 1997 and 1999. The data elements collected and examined for both groups include demographic items, membership in the organization, employment characteristics, and education.
