Reliability of corroded pipelines accounting for system effects Leira, Bernt J.; Naess, Arvid; Næss, Ole E. Brandrud

Abstract

The present paper addresses reliability analysis of corroding pipelines also with consideration of system reliability effects. The analysis is performed by utilization of an enhanced Monte-Carlo simulation method which has been found to be very efficient for quantification of system reliability in relation to multiple components with arbitrary correlation levels. Examples of application comprise systems with corrosion defects that are both independent and with quantification of the effect of correlation.
