Hello, my name is Hikaru Ikeda. I am a second-year Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) student at UBC’s School of Information and the newest member of the cIRcle team. As the Digital Repository Research Assistant, I will be working on several exciting service development and enhancement projects over the Summer and will be sharing project updates and insights on the blog. Topics are expected to include:

  • The cIRcle COVID-19 Research Recruitment Project
  • Standardization, quality control, and enhancement of existing digital records (content and metadata) to facilitate record discovery, aggregation and use in multiple discovery spaces
  • Creation and migration of digital records
  • Findings on emerging trends and best practices in digital repositories

I am looking forward to learning more about current trends and issues in the Open Access landscape – particularly equity-centred considerations and practices – and to gain hands-on digital repository experience while supporting cIRcle’s mission.
